Author talks Malta crime thriller
A CENTRAL Coast author with deep roots in the Merrylands area will bring his passion for Malta to his old neighbourhood when he speaks about his latest crime thriller.
He will discuss his thriller called Deception under Maltese Skies and why Malta is a great setting for a novel at Merrylands Library on Thursday, May 21 May at 11am.
Sean Richardson, who grew up in Merrylands West before eventually settling on the Central Coast, says Malta’s unique character makes it an irresistible backdrop for novels, in particular, crime fiction and he is looking forward to returning to familiar territory for the talk.
“Malta sits at the crossroads of the Mediterranean and is renowned for its sunshine and fascinating history but in the shadows, lurks present danger and a dark past” he said.
Perched between Europe and Africa, Malta’s layered history and vibrant culture gives Richardson a background for his stories of intrigue and deception.
Deception under Maltese Skies is a prequel to his debut novel The Maltese Web, and centres on his main character the determined investigator, Marica Debono in the aftermath of the Farrugia incident.
This talk will appeal to people who want to escape to an unusual location for mystery and intrigue, to those who may have a link to Malta and also to those who have never been.
