Call for ban on gambling advertising
FAMILY First’s Lyle Shelton has called on federal and NSW governments to introduce a complete ban on gambling advertising across television, streaming, radio, social media, online services and sporting venues. Shelton said gambling had become increasingly normalised through sport, exposing children to betting messages. He argued partial restrictions were inadequate and compared gambling advertising with tobacco promotion, saying governments should prioritise protecting families from financial, social and mental health harms.
