Investment in koala protection
THE NSW Government is investing $80M to protect koalas and their habitat in south-west Sydney. This includes $48 million for a new National Park along the Georges River, adding over 1,000 hectares to the NSW national park system. Additionally, $26M will be used for koala-friendly crossings, while $5.7M will support koala care in the Macarthur area. This forms part of a broader $172M commitment to koala conservation by the NSW Government.
