Support from new dementia website

EMMA Heming Willis (pictured) has shared the emotional toll of Bruce Willis’s diagnosis with Frontotemporal dementia, telling the International Dementia Conference 2026 that her family received little guidance after the diagnosis, leaving them feeling isolated and uncertain. She launched the Australian support website www.raredementia.com.au, developed by HammondCare, to provide information and support for families living with rare dementias. The initiative also aims to raise awareness that dementia includes many conditions beyond Alzheimer’s disease, including FTD, which affects behaviour, personality and language rather than memory in its early stages.
